Wyman has her heart broken when her cad of a fiance leaves her high and dry at the altar. Trying to forget her sorrow, she runs off to a Texas oil town and opens a dress shop, where she catches the attention of leading designers as well as wealthy rancher Heston. He falls for Wyman, but she prefers to give herself totally to her career. A disheartened Heston joins the Army to forget Wyman and becomes a hero. When he returns to civilian life, Wyman realizes that love is more important than a career and gives it all up to marry her man. The soap opera plot and yards of fashionable gowns were designed specifically with a female audience in mind, and the real designer of the fashions, Head, makes a cameo appearance. While this is an entertaining film, one can see the motivations clearly in the forefront. Heston is fine.
